JMC Products Opens New Factory in Dong Guan, China
JMC Products, a leading supplier of thermal cooling
solutions, is pleased to announce that the company has expanded
their production capacity by opening a new state-of-the-art facility
in Dong Guan, China. The new factory has been opened in order to
meet the increasing requirements for high quality electronic cooling
products.
Representing a significant strategic capital investment
for JMC, the 8,500 square meter facility will provide a production
capacity of 800,000 fans per month at full production. The new factory
is located in the Dong Cheng area of Dong Guan in the Guangdong
Province of the Peoples Republic of China.
JMC began initial planning in the second quarter
of 2005 and began occupancy of the factory in August of 2005. The
factory was approved for production by the government of China in
January of 2006. The organization employs a local workforce, including
local management.
Wally Huck, Vice President of Operations at JMC,
says "Our goal is to manufacture high quality, cost-effective
products that will satisfy the cooling requirements of today's demanding
electronic applications. With the increased production capacity
of the Dong Guan factory, JMC will be able to provide immediate
response to the growing demand for electronic cooling products."

JMC Adds Graphics' Coolers to Product Line
JMC Products announces the addition of active
heat sink solution for cooling graphics processors.
JMC Graphics Cooler solution (Part number: 400219)
consists of an extruded aluminum heat sink, a bottom mount 60x60x10
mm fan impeller (Part Number:
A6326280-5) and pushpin type retention mechanism. The heat sink
design is low cost and highly effective (Size: 79 mm x 63 mm x 12
mm). Optimum spacing between the fins helps for fan air intake and
maximizes the surface area for excellent heat dissipation. The fan
blade geometry is designed to intake fresh air from the top and
sides, and exhaust air through the openings on the bottom surface
of the heat sink. The fan speed on this cooler is 4000 rpm at 12
volts, with a sleeve bearing for low noise operation. The airflow
is around 20 cfm and noise level is around 28 dBA, at 3000 rpm.
This cooler can be used on NVDIA Geforce and ATI VGA graphics cards.

Fan Food for Thought - How to Save Money on Fan Cost
Autorestart - Many customers have asked
about the use of the Autorestart (AR) feature for their applications.
All JMC fans will automatically restart and resume normal operation
if the impeller is blocked and the blockage is removed. The AR feature
is an additional function that can be added to any fan. This feature
adds time intervals between restart attempts to reduce current draw
and therefore
prevents overheating. A fan with AR, if the impeller is locked,
will turn itself OFF for a defined time (Toff). The fan will then
attempt to restart by re-enabling the motor phase drive for a defined
period (Ton). This cycle of Toff Ton will be repeated indefinitely
until the fan restarts. This approach prevents overheating on high
current fans and is only beneficial with fans that operate at high
current.
When using a lower speed fan that draws minimum
current, the AR feature is not necessary because the low current
draw of these fans will not generate enough heat to create an overheating
situation. By not implementing this AR feature in lower speed fans,
you will lower your cost and have the same benefits of the AR function.
