4-Wire Voltage Controlled PWM Innovation
JMC has developed a new design to eliminate the
cost of a PWM controller on driving motherboards or fan control
circuitry. This is especially useful if you use more than four PWM
fans in your chassis because you will eliminate the cost of multiple
PWM fan controllers on your motherboard.
The method is explained in the attached presentation that you can
view by clicking on the button to the right. JMC sets the PWM frequency
internal to the fan at
25KHz so that the fan is still a low noise high frequency PWM fan,
but the speed control is adjusted by a voltage on the 4th wire.
If you have any questions about this please reply to this e-mail
and JMC's engineering staff will contact you with more details.

40mm PWM Fan
JMC has now miniaturized the PWM control logic
to fit into a 40mm DC fan. In order to achieve PWM fan speed control
of a 1U application almost any duty cycle to RPM curve can be customized
as needed.

40mm PWM Fan Specs:

____ CFM
____ RPM
____ dBA

Intel Advanced Speed Control Algorithm and Roadmap
Attached is an Intel presentation from Nicholas
Weber presented at the past Intel Technical Symposium (ITS) that
explains the new efficiencies Intel has planned for eliminating
excess air flow to reduce noise. If you have any questions about
this presentation please reply to this article and a JMC engineering
can further explain this future fan speed control concept.

Riddle Me This - Enter to Win
Email
us your answer by replying to this message. If you are correct,
we will enter your name to win the February giveaway - a JMC polo
shirt!
If this sum is correct, what digits do A and
M represent:
MA + A = AM
The answer will be posted in the next newsletter.
Congratulations to our Nov/Dec winner Andrea Schott
of Cisco who won a JMC polo shirt! Nov/DecRiddle:
Take the letters ERGRO. Put three letters in front of it and the
same three letters behind to form a common English word? Answer:
UNDERGROUND.
