Hello Everyone and welcome to the September /
October version of the JMC newsletter. First I will start by telling
you about the Thermal Technology Track of the Intel Technology symposium
(ITS) held in conjunction with the Intel Developers Forum (IDF)
in San Francisco September 8th and 9th.
Cooling Multi-Core processors, BTX chassis, and
future FAN advanced speed
control
motherboard algorithms were just a few of the topics discussed by
Intel. JMC presented the implementing PWM Fan Speed Control topic.

Very High Performance 120x38mm Fixed Vane Fan
JMC
launched final testing of the new 120x38mm fixed vane fan. Current
performance is fixed speed of 4500 RPM's producing 200 CFM at 0.85
Inch of water.
Our future plan roadmap includes a special LOW
COST version of this fixed speed fan. And secondly adding PWM features
to this fan size family using micro-controlled firmware that includes
a soft start algorithm that prevents high start-up spike currents
without any added circuits and without any added cost. The soft
start feature is operational in 92mm fans and achieves full speed
in only 5 seconds which is a vital requirement for high performance
air moving devices and chassis with multiple fans. To learn more
about this new 120mm fan design, contact

80x38mm Fixed Vane Concepts Simulation Software
JMC has in-house software by
Concepts NREC which
can be used to design custom
fans of any type, including vaneaxial and dual blade counter-rotating
fans. The software allows analysis of the fan flow curve and a push
button CFD interface generates the flow field through the fan to
determine necessary design improvements. A sample screen shot above
shows the 3D CAD design of an 80x38mm vaneaxial fan within the software.

team on a custom fan design,
