Welcome to JMC's Thermal Design News. The purpose
of this newsletter is to update our customers on a monthly basis
about the ongoing projects JMC is working on. Read on to see what's
happening in September.

Counter-Rotating, Dual Blade Fan
JMC has designed a counter-rotating, dual blade fan. The purpose
of the new design is to avoid downtime as a result of the amplified
redundancy of the fan. Furthermore, the outcome is a fan design
with increased CFM output. The new design will be made available
in a range of JMC DC fan sizes.

JMC's Customer Applications Engineering Team
JMC's Customer Applications Engineering Team is on hand to work
with each of our customers individually in order to help design
custom engineering solutions to meet your needs. Our capabilities
consist of developing custom requirements, providing preliminary
designs, prototyping, and supplying engineering samples. We will
work with you at each level of design to provide a custom solution
to meet your project's needs.

Pulse-Width Modulation
We have developed a PWM design that fits into
the following JMC fans. Each fan size will be available to customers
next month, October 2002.
- 120x38mm
- 120x25mm
- 92x38mm
- 97x33mm 48-V Blower

EDM Capabilities
JMC's machine shop is equipped with two high-powered EDM machines
that can be used to create custom prototypes and samples rapidly
for our customers. The JMC lab contains an EDM wire cutter and an
EDM sinker, which enable JMC to build custom heat sinks, prototype
extruded heat sinks, and experiment with various other types of
metal. Our mechanical engineering team has in-depth knowledge about
these tools in order to fully support our customer's needs.

Riddle Me This - Enter to Win
Now here's the fun part, the JMC Riddle of the Month. Solve the
riddle below and email us your answer by replying to this message.
If you are correct, we will enter your name into a monthly drawing
for a free JMC polo shirt!
Find two positive numbers that have a one-digit
answer when multiplied and a two-digit answer when added.
The answer to this month's riddle will be
posted in October's newsletter.
Congratulations to our August winner who answered
the riddle correctly and was randomly selected to win a JMC shirt!
How many bricks 3x4x8 inches does it take to complete a wall 2x12x48
feet? Answer: Acceptable answers
were 20,736 and 1. The wall is 24x144x576 inches, which is 1,990,656
cubic inches in volume. The bricks are 96 cubic inches each. Therefore
1,990,656 divided by 96 is 20,736 - the
number of bricks to build the wall. Or, you could answer that
it only takes 1 brick to "Complete"
the wall. Thanks to everyone who participated.
