Phoenix 70 Meets Requirements for Intel® XeonTM Processors
for Servers and Intel® Pentium® 4 Processors for Desktops
JMC's Phoenix 70 CPU cooler represents a single
thermal cooling solution for two high performance Intel® processors.
The Phoenix 70 cooler meets the latest cooling requirements for
the Intel® XeonTM processor with 512-KB L2 cache
for dual processor servers AND for
the Intel® Pentium® 4 processor with 512-KB L2 cache on
.13 micron process. The all-Aluminum Phoenix 70 is designed for
speeds in excess of 3.0 GHz, effectively meeting the thermal requirements
for the most demanding processor applications. The thermal resistance
with thermal interface grease is measured by JMC to be 0.29°
C per watt for the Intel® XeonTM processor and 0.32°
C per watt for the Intel® Pentium® 4 processor.
- Power: up to 80 watts for Intel®
XeonTM processor and up to 76 watts for Intel®
Pentium® 4 processor
- Heat sink dimensions: 53mm h x 79mm d
- Fan dimensions: 70x70x25mm
- Thermal resistance: 0.29° C per watt for Intel® XeonTM
processor and 0.32° C per watt for Intel® Pentium®
4 processor
- Fan Speed: 5500 RPM
- Socket: 603 for Intel® XeonTM processor and 478 for Intel®
Pentium® 4 processor
- Noise Level: 40 dBA
- Rated Amperage: 0.21 A
- Weight: 389 g

New 60x38mm High Speed DC Fan
JMC has developed a high-speed 60x60x38mm DC fan,
which will be available to customers before the end of this year.
The 60x38mm fan design will incorporate a fixed blade set, in addition
to the standard fan impeller. The fixed blade set is designed to
direct the flow patterns into the impeller, reducing turbulence
and increasing airflow. This design can increase airflow by more
than 20% over a similarly sized fan.

Motor Winding Machine - Lab Tools
JMC recently installed a heavy-duty type-winding
machine that is designed for spinning up coils of small and medium
sized motors. This machine can most suitably be used to wind custom
motors for clients quickly and on-site at JMC. The winding machine
spins wire on a stator and is controlled by a microcontroller. Our
engineering team has in-depth experience working with the winding
machine, which allows us to more precisely test for CFM, electromagnetism,
and more, in order to provide our customer's with the highest quality
air moving products.

Riddle Me This - Enter to Win
Now here's the fun part, the JMC Riddle of the Month. Solve the
riddle below and email us your answer by replying to this message.
If you are correct, we will enter your name into a monthly drawing
for a free JMC polo shirt!
There are 100 buildings along a street. A sign
maker is ordered to number the buildings 1 to 100. How many "9's"
will he need?
The answer to this month's riddle will be posted
in November's newsletter.
Congratulations to our September winner who answered
the riddle correctly and was randomly selected to win a JMC shirt!
September Question: Find two positive
numbers that have a one-digit answer when multiplied and a two-digit
answer when added. Answer: The
answer was 9 and 1 (9x1=9, 9+1=10).
